This camera captured the daily rhythms of a whooping crane nest in a crawfish farm field in southwestern Louisiana in late spring 2023. The nest is surrounded by blooming pickerel weed. Occasionally the cameras capture the crawfish boat harvesting machines passing through the frame. This was the pair’s third nesting attempt of the season. Previous attempts had failed.

*The nest cameras were installed with the permission and under the guidance of whooping crane scientists and associated entities.
