Salt Plains Marsh
About Salt Plains Marsh
This camera is in the same frame as the Salt Plains Deck camera. It is placed along the wetland edge among cattails to provide an intimate crane’s eye view of the marsh, capture seasonal water level fluctuations, and wildlife movements throughout the year, especially during migration. Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge is 32,080 acres and contains 12,000 acres of salt flats, the largest such expanse in the Great Plains. It is also a designated wetland of hemispheric importance for migratory shorebirds. This camera was consumed by cattails and was decommissioned.
