In 2023, this camera captures the daily rhythms of a whooping crane nest in the southern half of their nesting grounds in the Alberta portion of Wood Buffalo National Park, Canada. The male of the pair is marked with telemetry. After a major thunderstorm with driving winds and hail swept through during incubation, one egg disappeared and the other never hatched. This pair winters on the Powderhorn Wildlife Management Area near Port O’Connor, Texas.

*The nest cameras were installed with the permission and under the guidance of whooping crane scientists and associated entities.
